American Heart Association (AHA) Certification Courses

In India, heart disease is the single largest cause of death in the country with heart attacks being responsible for one third of all deaths caused by heart diseases. According to a projection by the WHO, and ICMR, India will not only be the heart attack capital but also the capital of diabetes and hypertension by 2020. India is currently witnessing nearly two million heart attacks a year and majority of the victims are youngsters. One person dies every 33 seconds owing to a heart attack in India. People living in cities are three times more prone to heart attacks than people living in rural areas.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), road traffic injuries are the sixth leading cause of death in India with a greater share of hospitalization, deaths, disabilities and socio-economic losses in the young and middle-aged population. The Global status report on road safety 2013 estimates that more than 231 000 people are killed in road traffic crashes in India every year. Approximately half of all deaths on the country's roads are among vulnerable road users - motorcyclists, pedestrians and cyclists.
